Development of a Weather Observation System
ZUKOSHA Co., Ltd.
Applied Services: AWS IoT Core, Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda
ZUKOSHA Co., Ltd. is a consulting firm based in Tokachi and Obihiro, Hokkaido Prefecture, specializing in social infrastructure development with a focus on agriculture, environment, and town planning. Classmethod developed a comprehensive sensor data recording system that captures environmental metrics — wind speed, temperature, and snow depth — alongside real-time webcam and video footage monitoring.

IoT Architecture for Environmental Monitoring
The system uses AWS IoT Core with MQTTS protocol for secure device communication, enabling sensors deployed across Hokkaido's agricultural and environmental monitoring sites to transmit data reliably to the cloud regardless of weather conditions.
Data Flow Architecture
Results Achieved
- • Real-time weather observation system operational across Hokkaido
- • Wind speed, temperature, and snow depth data captured continuously
- • Webcam and video footage stored durably in Amazon S3
- • Secure IoT device communication via MQTTS protocol
- • Data accessible on PC and mobile devices for agricultural planning
This case study uses AWS IoT Core and Amazon Kinesis.
Classmethod builds IoT data collection and monitoring systems for environmental, agricultural, and infrastructure applications — enabling organizations to gather and act on real-time sensor data at scale.
